Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Properties

Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Properties receive special financing to assist with the acquisition, construction and/or renovation of apartment properties in exchange for making the rents affordable to people with low to moderate incomes. Rents are flat and are restricted so they are affordable to people within the eligible income ranges that the property serves. These rents are below most area rents, and these properties typically accept tenants assisted through the Housing Choice Voucher program. The link below is to a spreadsheet that lists LIHTC properties throughout Virginia. The list can be sorted by city, zip code, jurisdiction and whether the property serves older adults or families.
